Delusion

Question: What is delusion?

Master: What you are asking now is "What is delusion?" It is delusion.

Question: When thoughts arise, how do we control them? How to stop following bad thoughts?

Master: When a thought arises, be aware of it; when you are aware of it, it disappears. Once you realize that it is a bad thought, it will disappear. If you follow the bad thoughts and don't think they are bad thoughts, no one can help you. When a thought arises, be aware of it; when you are aware of it, it disappears. When you become aware of the false thoughts, they will disappear. Delusions have no roots. Find the root of that delusion. As long as you don't follow your delusional thoughts, it's fine if you don't join forces with them.

Question: What is the difference between delusion and vows? How do I know if my aspirations are delusions?

Master: If making a vow can benefit others, then even if it is a delusion, it will not be a problem; if it cannot benefit others, then one should get rid of the delusion.

Question: Master, I know this is wrong, but I have this delusion and feel that my energy is declining and I am afraid that I cannot support it.

Master: This is because of your selfishness! If there is no selfishness and one forgets oneself for the sake of Dharma, how can there be an "I" that can or cannot endure it? You should forget all of this quickly.

Question: Master, how can we break attachments and delusions?

Master: Who gave you the delusion? Who gives you attachment?
