Question: What is the most important thing for a Buddhist believer?

The Venerable Master Hsuan-Hua replied:

Those who believe in Buddhism must remember to keep the five precepts, the five precepts are the most important, the five precepts are also the foundation of being a human being, also a ladder to the heaven. If you keep the five precepts, no matter when you won't lose your human body.
