Dharma protectors take care of filial people. What other types of people are also protected by Dharma protectors?
According to Buddhist scriptures and traditional culture, Dharma protectors (benevolent deities generally refer to celestial beings, dragon kings, and spirits who believe in and protect the Dharma, and bless practitioners and all sentient beings) not only care for those who are filial to their parents, but also protect those who possess the following qualities and behaviors:
Those who diligently practice and uphold the precepts: Those who strictly observe the precepts (such as the Five Precepts), diligently practice daily, and maintain a vegetarian diet and chant scriptures will naturally attract the protection of Dharma protectors.
Those who harbor good intentions and altruism: People who frequently do good deeds, do not seek personal gain, and vow to help others, or those who practice Buddhism with "right knowledge and right view," will receive the full protection of the Dharma protectors.
Those who understand humility and repentance: Those who constantly hold reverence in their hearts and sincerely reflect on and repent for their wrongdoings will receive assistance from Dharma protectors even when facing difficulties.
Dharma protectors uphold the principle of "protecting the Dharma and goodness." Conversely, if one harbors evil thoughts, is disobedient or unfilial, or breaks precepts and commits evil deeds, the Dharma protectors will distance themselves and may even punish them.
