From a Buddhist perspective, one should not covet or cling to anything, so what should I do?

The Buddhist teaching of "letting go of greed and attachment" doesn't mean doing nothing, but rather releasing the anxiety about gain, loss, fame, and clinging. By letting go of unnecessary attachments, you can be freed from fear, fully engaged in the present moment, experiencing the inherent richness of life, and practicing compassion and wisdom.
In Buddhist teachings, when you are free from greed and attachment, you can actively do the following:
Live in the present moment and focus on giving: Letting go of greed doesn't mean giving up. When you eat, focus on eating; when you work, work diligently; be responsible to your family and society, and do things well without any worries.
Practicing the Bodhisattva Path (Benefiting Others): Buddhism encourages people to transform selfish desires into "aspiration power". When you are not attached to self-interest, you can free up your energy to help others, care for society, and do good without expecting anything in return.
Exploring the Reality of Life: Use your free time to meditate, read Buddhist teachings, or reflect inward to clarify how your mind works, thereby developing inner wisdom and no longer being held hostage by emotions and afflictions.
In short, the Buddhist teaching of "non-greed" aims to enable one to live more freely. Only by eradicating negative attachments such as greed, anger, and ignorance can you truly become the master of your own life and find inner peace.
