Why is it that when each dragon is tied with a strand of Buddha's cassock thread, Garuda cannot eat the dragon?
This is a wonderful use, and the uses are endless.
Because the poisonous fire was so powerful, everything in Garuda was burned except its heart; no matter how much it burned, it could not burn out this heart!
The heart is indestructible by burning. If Chakravarti (universal ruler) gets this heart, he can turn it into a Cintamani (a wish-fulfilling jewel), and he can do whatever he wants, and everything will go as he wishes. If the Jade Emperor gets this heart, it will turn into a night-shining jewel and always shine there.
If the Dragon King gets this heart, the heart will become a bright pearl. With the bright pearl, there will be no suffering, and the Garuda cannot eat it.
We all have this Cintamani, but we just don't know how to use it or recite this mantra.
Throughout the day, how we talk, eat, wear clothes, and walk are all due to the function of this Cintamani; but we cannot see it.
Just because we are too lost, we cannot find this Cintamani.
