Path is the pathway, is a pathway of cultivation, this pathway is a path that anyone can follow. If you want to become a Buddha, you have to go through this path, so this path is the path to Buddhahood.
Why did you come when I preached? You were attracted by the power of Saṃgraha.
If the strength is small, there will be fewer people; if the strength is great, it will bring in a little more people. So, somebody from Seattle came as well, it's all one kind of power of Saṃgraha.
The power of Saṃgraha is like a magnet. Magnets attract irons, you can't see what kind of power among there attracts things up. But it invisibly attracted here already, this is Saṃgraha.
Saṃgraha 攝,攝受:
means the Buddha receives and protects sentient beings with compassion.
The sutras are the path that guides you on the path of monasticism, it's like use your finger pointing at the moon. You point at this moon with your hand, say, "the moon is there!" This person doesn't look at the moon, just look at this finger, he thought that this finger was the moon. Don't mistake this finger for the moon, sutras teach you the Tao, don't think that the sutras are Tao. Tao, you have to practice then you can attain Tao, if you don't practice, thinking that the sutras are Tao, you are wrong again.
