Nowadays, some Tirthika (heretics) spread rumors to confuse the public, telling their believers: "Maitreya Buddha will be born soon and will hold the Longhua Assembly to save you and lead you to heaven to enjoy eternal happiness." People who do not understand Buddhism believe it to be true after hearing it and are deceived. Why do they spread such nonsense and deceive believers? In a nutshell, it is to make money and get believers to make offerings. As wealth pours in, they seize the opportunity to enjoy it. Unfortunately, many foolish men and women have fallen prey to superstition, becoming impoverished while these others prosper. Everyone, it is crucial to clearly discern which is the Authentic Buddhism and which is Evil Dharma.
Buddhism says that the date of Maitreya Bodhisattva's birth (appears on Earth) is calculated as follows:
Now is the "decreasing Kalpa period" when people's life expectancy is 60 years. Every hundred years, subtract one year until the human lifespan reaches ten years. Then, every hundred years, the human lifespan will increase by one year and the height by one inch, until the human lifespan reaches 84,000 years. Then, every hundred years, the age will decrease by one year and the height will decrease by one inch, until the human lifespan reaches 80,000 years. At this time, it is the date when Maitreya Bodhisattva is born (appears on Earth).
