Because you planted good roots in past lives, so you encounter the Mahāyāna Buddhist texts
Lecture by Venerable Master Hsuan-Hua:
Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Pūrvapraṇidhāna Sūtra, Śūraṅgama Sūtra, Diamond Sutra, and the Lotus Sutra are all Mahāyāna Buddhist texts. What we meet now are all Mahāyāna Buddhist texts, thus you are all people with good roots. If you don't have good roots, you can't even hear the names of the Mahāyāna Buddhist texts.
If you count how many people in this world don't understand the Dharma and don't hear the Mahāyāna Sutras, some people even come here and run away when they hear it, why? It's because they don't have this kind of good root.
Path is the pathway, is a pathway of cultivation, this pathway is a path that anyone can follow. If you want to become a Buddha, you have to go through this path, so this path is the path to Buddhahood.
The Mahāyāna Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra, Volume 6
Although those who study Mahāyāna have physical eyes, they are called Buddha's eyes. Why? The Mahāyāna sutra is called the Buddha Vehicle, such Buddha Vehicle is uppermost and most extraordinary.
So, we should not ignore the importance of circulating sutras. If you can widely print sutras and circulate sutras, you will develop wisdom and your wisdom will increase.
