The Third Dhyāna Heaven is the third level of the Form Realm Heaven among the heavens, and is inhabited by heavenly beings who have been away from desires and reached the third Zen state. Compared with the second dhyāna heaven, this heaven is cut off from emotions such as joy and delight. It only has five characteristics: Upekṣā (equanimity), Sati (mindfulness), Vie, joy and concentration, so it is called the wonderful land of freedom from joy.
